Autoridades mexicanas estimam que 50 pessoas continuem soterradas após terremoto

As autoridades da Cidade do México estimam que ainda há cerca de 50 pessoas soterradas em imóveis destruídos pelo terremoto que castigou a região central do país na última terça (19), matando 137 apenas na capital.

“As expectativas são de encontrarmos cerca de 50 pessoas nesses edifícios. Esse é um cálculo que fizemos a partir do que estamos encontrando”, disse o chefe de governo da Cidade do México, Migue Ángel Mancera, em entrevista coletiva.

Mais cedo, a Secretaria de Governo do México elevou para 273 o número de mortos pelo terremoto no país. Além de 137 na Cidade do México, houve 73 vítimas em Morelos, 43 em Puebla, 13 no estado do México, seis em Guerrero e um em Oaxaca.

Na capital mexicana, a região mais castigada pelo tremor de magnitude 7,1 na escala Richter, foram resgatadas 60 pessoas.

O governo da capital mexicana, onde 38 imóveis desabaram, estima que fará mais de 2,9 mil avaliações para determinar se alguns prédios estão em condições de serem habitados.

Mancera disse não ter um número exato de pessoas que tiveram que deixar suas casas, mas, nos 44 albergues disponibilizados pela Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Social, há 2,5 mil mexicanos. Muitos, no entanto, foram para a casa de familiares ou amigos.
