Percentual de cheques sem fundos é o maior em 25 anos

O percentual de devoluções de cheques pela segunda vez por insuficiência de fundos alcançou a marca histórica de 2,66% em março deste ano. Segundo a Serasa Experian, é o maior índice registrado desde 1991, quando começou o levantamento. Foram 1.354.017 devolvidos e 50.932.422 cheques compensados.

Em fevereiro, o percentual de devoluções foi de 2,27%, com 1.104.817 cheques que voltaram e 48.718.786 compensados. Em março de 2015, o percentual de devoluções havia sido de 2,32%, com 1.414.160 cheques devolvidos e 60.879.805 compensados.

Já no primeiro trimestre deste ano, o percentual foi de 2,45%, contra 2,2% no mesmo período do ano passado.

Em março deste ano, todos os estados brasileiros, com exceção de Roraima, tiveram aumento na porcentagem de devoluções, tanto em relação a fevereiro como em relação a março de 2015.

Segundo os economistas da Serasa Experian, a inflação ainda elevada, pressionada pelos alimentos, e o aprofundamento da recessão econômica impulsionando o desemprego no país dificultam que o consumidor honre seus pagamentos, o que faz a inadimplência com cheques atingir níveis recordes.

Estados e regiões

Na avaliação do primeiro trimestre de 2016 entre as regiões do país, a liderança de devoluções foi do Norte, com 4,75% de cheques devolvidos no período. O Sudeste foi a região que apresentou o menor percentual de devoluções entre janeiro e março de 2016: 2%.

Já entre os estados, o Amapá liderou o ranking de cheques sem fundos nos primeiros três meses do ano, com 18,27% de devoluções. Na outra ponta da tabela, São Paulo foi o estado com o menor percentual de cheques devolvidos (1,84%).
