Corrida e pedal na floresta: Reserva Natural Vale recebe “Challenge Forest Trail” em outubro

Quem quiser participar da Challenge Forest Trail, que vai atravessar a Reserva Natural Vale no dia 1º de outubro, deve começar a correr já. As inscrições estão abertas no site www.suainscricao.com e as vagas são limitadas. No ano passado, cerca de cem pessoas participaram do evento.

A competição reunirá provas de mountain bike e corrida. Além de belas paisagens, o percurso, dentro de uma das maiores áreas conservadas de Mata Atlântica do Espírito Santo, promete muita aventura e adrenalina para os participantes.

Serão disputadas três modalidades distintas. A de Mountain Bike contará com dois percursos, sendo um mais longo, de 56 quilômetros, e um mais curto e acessível, de 27 quilômetros. Já na categoria Duathlon Cross, além de 27 quilômetros de mountain bike, os atletas deverão encarar também a corrida. Nesse caso, poderão optar pelo percurso de três quilômetros ou pelo de sete quilômetros.

Lazer

Para quem quiser aproveitar o dia na Reserva, atividades como oficinas e trilhas também estarão acontecendo para toda família. Já quem quiser ficar hospedado, deve entrar em contato com o telefone (27) 3371-9797.

O local oferece ampla infraestrutura de lazer como piscina, restaurante, sala de ginástica, e quadras esportivas, por exemplo.

A Reserva

Com 23 mil hectares, a Reserva Natural Vale (RNV) é um dos últimos grandes remanescentes da Floresta de Tabuleiro, uma das formações florestais atualmente mais ameaçadas do bioma Mata Atlântica. Pela sua importância nas atividades de conservação, pesquisa e uso sustentável dos recursos florestais, a RNV recebeu da Unesco o título de Posto Avançado da Reserva da Biosfera da Mata Atlântica, qualificação que foi renovada pela terceira vez em junho deste ano.

A importância da área para a conservação da Mata Atlântica também é representada pela sobreposição de diversos territórios demarcados: Reserva da Biosfera da Mata Atlântica e Patrimônio Mundial da Costa do Descobrimento, pela Unesco; Área Prioritária para a Conservação da Biodiversidade;  Mosaico de Áreas Protegidas da Foz do Rio Doce; Corredor Central da Mata Atlântica e Corredor Sooretama-Goytacazes-Comboios, todos concedidos pelo Ministério do Meio Ambiente e ainda Important Bird Area e Endemic Bird Area, pela BirdLife International.

Além da conservação da diversidade biológica, são desenvolvidas na RNV pesquisas científicas de importante repercussão para a sociedade e essenciais para o conhecimento e manejo da Floresta de Tabuleiro. Desde que foi adquirida pela Vale, nos anos 50, até o momento já foram catalogadas na Reserva mais de 3 mil espécies vegetais, mais de 1.500 morfoespécies de insetos e 102 espécies de mamíferos, além de 56 de anfíbios, 64 de répteis e 391 de aves. Nos últimos 30 anos, cerca de 100 novas espécies de plantas foram descritas com base nas pesquisas apoiadas pela RNV.

A Reserva é aberta ao público todos os dias, das 8h30 às 16h, oferecendo caminhadas em trilhas ecológicas e um Centro de Exposições sobre a Mata Atlântica, além de atividades diversas como dinâmicas e oficinas com foco em sustentabilidade. O local conta ainda com estrutura completa para a realização de visitas, eventos, treinamentos e cursos.
