Morcego com suspeita de contaminação pela Raiva é encontrado em Vila Velha

A Prefeitura de Vila Velha começa nesta quarta (14) a visitar residências nos bairros Santa Rita, Primeiro de Maia e Zumbi dos Palmares para verificar as carteiras de vacinação dos animais. A ação tenta evitar a proliferação da raiva no município onde um morcego com suspeita de ter a doença foi encontrado.

“Uma senhora ligou para o CCZ dizendo que havia um morcego morto em seu quintal, e que seus três cachorros estavam vigiando o animal no chão. Com medo de que um deles tivesse sido mordido, ela acionou o CCZ. No mesmo dia enviamos o morcego para o Instituto Biológico, que infelizmente nos deu o parecer de que o animal estava com suspeita de contaminação pela Raiva”, disse a Veterinária e Coordenadora do Centro de Controle de Zoonoses, Wanessa Pachito.

Trata-se de um morcego frutífero, da espécie Artibeus. Vila Velha não registrava a presença de qualquer animal portador da raiva há mais de 10 anos.

Uma equipe do Centro de Controle de Zoonoses de Vila Velha (CCZ) realizará visitas em todas as residências dos bairros: Santa Rita, Primeiro de Maio e parte de Zumbi dos Palmares. Durante a visita, a equipe irá observar a carteira de vacinação de cada animal; os animais que não possuírem o documento serão vacinados contra a Raiva.

“O protocolo será vacinar os cães e gatos que não foram cobertos durante a campanha. Os animais que forem encontrados pelas ruas também serão vacinados. Após 30 dias, realizaremos outra vacinação, será o reforço. Todos os animais, desta região, irão recebê-la. Também teremos equipes realizando observação domiciliar por 180 dias, a fim de verificar qualquer alteração comportamental nos bichinhos”, disse a Veterinária.

O trabalho será realizado por uma equipe composta por 25 agentes de saúde, veterinário e biólogo.
