O número de pessoas em situação de rua na Serra registrou queda, de acordo com a  Assistência Social do município. De acordo com a secretaria, em todo o ano de 2016, foram mapeadas 397 pessoas. Já de janeiro a junho deste ano, no número caiu para 284. Destas, 30 foram acolhidas no Abrigo Arco-Íris; 150 no Centro Pop e outras 104 foram atendidas e acompanhadas pelas equipes de abordagem social da prefeitura.

“Essa diminuição consiste na superação da condição de rua, seja por conta própria (pessoas que conseguiram alugar uma casa, por exemplo) ou pela reinserção à casa da família”, explicou a psicóloga do Centro Pop Priscila Ribeiro Lima.

Há também os casos em que há o chamado recambiamento, quando a pessoa é enviada de volta à cidade de origem. Mas esse trabalho só ocorre depois de haver a certeza de que a pessoa será aceita novamente. “Fazemos o contato com a família e se ela receber o parente de volta, a gente dá a passagem”, frisou Priscila.

No acolhimento institucional 24 horas oferecido pela prefeitura – Abrigo Arco-Íris e Centro Pop – pessoas em situação de rua têm acesso aos serviços de saúde, educação, trabalho e renda e atendimento psicossocial.
