Soja, milho e arroz representam mais de 90% da safra 2017

As safras da soja, do milho e do arroz devem totalizar mais de 226 milhões de toneladas, respondendo por 93,7% da produção agrícola brasileira em 2017: a soja com 47,5%; o milho, 41,1%; e o arroz com 5,1%. As informações são do Levantamento Sistemático da Produção Agrícola (LSPA), divulgado hoje pelo IBGE. A produção estimada pelo IBGE em setembro para a safra de 2017 é de cerca de 242 milhões de toneladas, um aumento de 30,3% em relação à safra total de 2016.

Na pesquisa, divulgada mensalmente pelo IBGE, a produção de milho teve aumento de 1,1%, na comparação de setembro com agosto. “As últimas colheitas em Mato Grosso incrementaram a produção e atualizaram esse número”, explica Carlos Antônio Barradas, pesquisador do IBGE.

Comparado com 2016, o milho também aparece como uma das culturas que mais devem alavancar a produção agrícola brasileira em 2017, com acréscimo de 55,2%. Segundo Barradas, as chuvas desse ano têm colaborado para safras mais abundantes. “No ano passado, a seca prejudicou muito as lavouras, principalmente no Centro-Oeste”, destaca.
